Our animals

Biodiversity on the "farm" – cows, pigs, and chickens used to be normal for a farm, maybe a few sheep – but today, four species on one farm are quite unusual. Specialization and optimization, cost pressure, and profitability are turning modern agriculture into fully automated industrial operations.

We want to be the exception that proves the rule: There are other ways to do things economically. Over 60 breeds of farm animals and several wild animals live on our approximately 260 hectares of pasture and farmland in the large enclosures in Bad Bodenteich and on the pastures of the Schweimker Moor and Lüder Bruch nature reserves.
